Headunit and Line Output converter

Umm, I don't pay for food
Ok, I am going to be using my stock headunit with my car (02 Dodge Intrepid). So I went to get a Line output converter to be able to use my stock headunit with the sub amp and the sub. The problem is, there is already a stock amp in the car for the mids and highs, that is tapped into the wires behind the headunit (where the line output converter is supposed to go). So my question is what do I do? Where do I connect my line output converter to? I called dodge and they said wire the lineout converter into the rear speaker wire, that runs from the mid-high stock amp to the rear 6x9's. Is this correct? I want another opinion or recommendation, and I want to see if this is right.

This is what I have (Link to Output Converter)

Thanks!
