what does 0hz feel like?
Ok i own a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT fully loaded ..nice ride if i say so myself. Anyway as of now i have 2 RE MT 18's in a 14cube incloser in the back, lets just say its gets a lil loud 151.9 on music. As you 151.9 is loud and it does around a 150 at 30hz ya it moves some freakin air and moves parts on my car. This is the point in this post my Explorer is ripping apart from this massive system so im thinkin of downgrading a lil so shit doens't keep fallin apart and breaking. So im thinkin of doin 2 2006 RE XXX 15's in around 8cubes ya i know this will still get loud but im cutting the box size down a lot so thats a good thing and im thinkin of getting into SQ a lil bit more like SQL i guess what are you guys thoughts on this delima

R.I.P

Roof Concol

Sunroof tracs

Rear upper trim panels

Rear dome light

Rear Hatch latch

Front Center concol

Radio supports

Door sills

that just sounds like pain. i couldn't stand to drive around in somethign like for a daily driver, assuming its a daily driver. the new xxx's look sexy though, but even 2 of them is way overkill, at least imo. heck, i was happy with one 10" lol, but thats just me.

So youre going to get rid of your current system because its too loud??

How about just not turning it up to that point? Seems like it would save you a lot of trouble.

Explorers' interiors are definetly not made to withstand a whole lot. It came to the point where I took down my rear dome light, had to put some deadener in between the seatbelt's plastic and the metal bracket, my back hatch plastic got a crack in it that keeps expanding from massive air movement, and I also get major rattling from my sunroof's brackets when it's open.

Downgrading is definetly an option. My 2 15's definetly can do some damage, so I definetly see where you are coming from with your set-up.

my previous auto was a 94 expo i had two 12" rf power hx2's in it and over time i lost bunch of screws etc. sorry to say its an expo thing .

with me it started with the screws that hold the plastic piece by the sideview mirrors i could actually see them rotating when the bass hit lol then came the sunroof it got to the point that the rear window gasket caved in one day lol.so i can just imagine the trouble your having running a pair of 18" mt's

like previously posted try simple volume control dont turn it up so loud

I am runnin American Bass VFL400.1..... and for the reply about turning it down.. i keep it volume on around 15/32 with sub bass on 0 even there im sure a cop would not be happy with me drivin by and i work at a shop and we are a RE dealer so of coarse everyone that comes in the **** shop wants to hear my truck and its kinda hard to keep some 18's tuned down when u have them back there to play..... and i really getting tired of the huge *** box in the back here is a vid of the system
