headrest monitor help

I love lamp.
I installed some headrest monitors in my truck (bought used), the monitors come with a power/signal supply box with red, blue, yellow and red cables coming off then rca input/output and a s-video that goes to each monitor, ( 1 box per monitor). I first hook them up, yellow and red wire to red wire on the back of my kenwood ddx712, black to ground wire. Then I connect my negative battery terminal and I have smoke piling out of the power/signal box. What is wrong with my install? Is there a way I can bypass this box but still get power to my monitors?

How does this s-video connnection give power to my monitors? If it doesnt then can't I just supply a video signal from the back of my headunit to the monitors? I need help fast guys! Thanks in advance

I called the manufacteur and he said to not use the blue wire, but red was power, black was ground and yellow was ignition and I could wire the red and yellow together.

How does the "power box" get power to the monitor? s-video doesn't carry power right?

ok, after looking at it I need to:

1. either replace the capacitor on the power box

2. find another way to get power to the monitors.

I think option 2 is the easiest way, so.....

How do I get power to the monitors!?!?!?!?
