The reason the review said the amp shut off after 20 minutes is because the person had it installed incorrectly. There should be no reason for any amp to shut off after 20 minutes of use. Alpine makes good amps.

kcd maybe your right about the one type-r......its just i been underpowering my type-r i have for so long i dont feel as tho they are strong...havent heard one really get feed right....

it's not just power. 1 type R, in a well built ported box, on 750 watts or so, surprises most people. box, box, box, box means more than anything else. 2.2 tuned to 35hz seems to be a good box for the type r in my experience.

i agree. get at least 750 watts rms to that type R. get a box built that is 2.0-2.2 cubes tuned between 32-37hz, with approx. 24 sq. inches of port. just 1 will pound really well.

after reading all of your replies and doing some money math lol....i think im going to stick with the one 12....also i have a pioneer deh-p5800mp already installed in the deck....but a few weeks ago some loser broke in my car and tried to steal the thing but gave up and only took the face place...so maybe i should just replace it...

also does any one know if that hu is usb compatible?....i would rather just throw my music on a gig stick and plug it up.....to many cds everywhere

ur gonna want either 2 500 or 2 1000 cuzif u get r's from bb they are dual 4 so if u do 2 on the m1000 ull only get 500 total out at a 4ohm load, so do 2 1000 or 2 500, my boy is doing 2 500 on 2 12in rs and is hittin 143s

the hu still works because if you hold down the button that the faceplate presses against when its closed....my cd started playing lol....

and the 2 12's just keep calling me....im gonna just get a good box made....as long as its hundreds less then the 350 i got quoted for which is bullshit

only reason i was going with one of those boxes is because...the shop i go to told me 350 for a custom box....so i said fuk that....maybe i'll just shop around

Go custom, I was looking for a custom box for my 13tw5 for the boot in my trunk. First place quoted $230 for resin and carpet, 2nd place $600, 3rd place $80 w/ resin (threw in carpet too). Obviously I took that immediatly.

Point of the story is, MDF doesnt cost much and you should save your money and shop around for a box a bit, of course you will run into some jackass's trying to rip you hard, but eventually you'll find a reasonable person and they'll do an awesome job (did for me anyways)
