I got it from eBay. So, needless to say, that's the last time I ordered used audio equipment. It was supposed to be certified refurbished though. Oh well.

I did. Even at the lowest gain, it was still pretty noticeable. At half it was worse.

sounds like you got hosed bro  i got a DOA amp back when ebay was in its infancy and had no buyer protection. contact ebay for a refund

Oh I was hoping you wasn't going to say ebay. With all things being equal the kw. Making noise the dual not I was going to say send it back. Guess you could try. I'd say the way you have it set up I'd keep your max volume below 30 to be safe. If your gain is halfway it would be too high if you were amping.all your speakers but since your using the hu amp too might be ok as long as your max volume below 3/4. 

Look into how to set gains by ear. Set it for your max volume 28 would be were I'd set it anyway

Yeah. I used an oscilloscope to tune everything currently, and even at 40 volume, no clipping will occur on any of my front speakers. The back speakers have their gain turned down as well, but I didn't see any clipping coming from those anyway.

What did you use a 1k hz test tone? You talking off the rca s with the max volume?

Yes, 1k Hz for mids and 40 Hz for bass. RCA max volume yielded no clipping, as well as coming off the amp at full volume; sat at around 16V. Didn't do extensive tests on the radio amp, however, thus why I turned down the gain to prevent it just in case.

U have the lummy. Scope? 

Test tones fine for seeing where hu clips and getting gain close but u can get more out of it by setting by ear. Unless u listen to 0db test tones.

Yeah. Before I used it for my sub, I set it by ear and set it literally perfectly according to the scope, so I totally agree. It was a DSO138, I believe it is open source.
