recently i built a box for an 18" HDC....and now that my friend has ordered everything, it's just a matter of time before we put it all in....and i was wondering how long yall recommend to break the sub in....he'll be using a 2000watt Hifonics brutus, (wiring the D2 sub at 1ohm), off of kicker 1/0ga wire...with a 300amp anl fuse....i figured i could set the amp where it's delivering about 1000rms for about a week and then crank it up to 2000....do yall think that'll be enough time to break in...btw the box is a lil under 5.9cubes at 37hz..in an 03 f150

how well do you think this sub will pick up the lows, i was a lil iffy about tuning the box to 37hz....will it hit lower once the sub breaks in??

It should wang! You will still pick up lows under 37. Just watch for extended playing below tuning causing over excursion. That's the only way I've hurt mine in the past.

30-30hz should be good.

after setting the ssf to 30hz, will it still be able to play a lil under that...cuz i likes da lows...lol

All your SSF does is reduces output around that range.

When I had my HDC3's I set my SSF @ 28-30, and it played the lows just fine.

Good to see some AQ users down that way im from laurinburg and ssf @ 30 should be fine.

just be careful going under box tuning becouse it acts as though its free airing from what i've been told and seen my sub do.

well this isnt my system...this is all for a friend, he just asked me what equipment to get for under 900$, and for me to build the box for him and hook everything up....so its really my system, except its not in my vehicle nor did i pay for it...lol.....and no he really dont have the electrical for 2000 watts, i just told him to be ready to buy a yellow top or at least another battery or something.....and "me and myvic" if you ever come through rockingham, you should somehow get up with me or somethin it'd be nice to meet a CA member, and i'd like to hear your equipment
