fixing voice coil scratching

I have a kenwood excelon 12" sub and there is a rattle when it hits. I did some research and found out that its the voice coil scratching but I couldnt find anything about fixing it besides returning it and getting a new one. Thats not an option tho. If there is anyone that could help me out on learning how to fix this it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

i know a way to fix it hook it up to a 110 outlet and go buy a new sub . win win there you get to see the other one go out in a blaze of glory and you get to buy new sub or subs
