Hdc3 Sealed???

Hey guys so I'm looking for some input for my friend as he is considering going SEALED with a HDC3 or other drivers.

Right now he has 2 10" type X's running off 2000 watts in a ported BOX.

(he's really set on going sealed since he use to have a 15"type R SEALED and like how it sounded**How it Hit**)

He now has been looking at differnt setups trying to decide

***ALL WOULD BE RUN OFF HIS 2000W@ 1ohm***

Questions......

1: Does going sealed have ANY BENIFET Other the smaller box and SQ... Is it possible it could hit harder (not louder)???

2: Off the 2k of power would it be better to go with 1x15" HDC3 or 2x15" in a sealed box witch would be louder hit better.

3: Would say 4 10" type R's be louder off that power then the 2 aplications mentioned? (agian sealed)

Do not run the HDC3 sealed. It isn't meant to run like that and will probably perform like garbage.

Just get 1 15'' HDC3 in a properly built/designed box and call it a day. Yes it's going to get loud off that power and yes its going to "hit hard"

2000wrms? What amp is it that he is running.

You would need alot of room for 2 15 inch subs ported.

A single hdc3 can handle 2000.

Type Rs aren't bad but I cant really compare how 4 10s would sound not to mention the amount of space you would need to make boxes this big. What kind of car is it going into?

It would be going in a 97 T-Bird it has a pretty deep trunk not a 100% sure how much cubic space he has to work with...

Which amp does he have?

The audioque will probably be louder but not sound as good.

A sealed box will usually play lower louder. So if you want it to "hit" as in 10-15hz, then....

What about throwing HDC3 12 in the mix? gain a bit of SQ from the 15?

Have you heard the 15s sealed? They really don't sound bad at all and have a thick low end as far as frequency response is concerned.

I have the 12" haven't heard a 15 yet.

I would go with a single 15 over a single 12 tho. You can try going 2 12s but the amp is a little over rated. Each sub would end up with a lil under 1000watts each
