HDC3 noise?

the low end is great, if i can just keep the cone under control i think it will be better. to do that now i have to run the ssf pretty high. IMMA i see you looking what do you think?

ok after reading some info i think i should tune this thing alot lower. i am tuned to 34hz right now and on alot of the songs that i play which are chopped and screwed it sounds like bottoming out to me but im not sure. The box is a chambered t-line which we all know is infamous for poor cone control. Should i get another box? what size and what tune? i am thinking around 3.5 cubes tuned to 28hz???? any help?
chances are its not bottoming it. it will make the noise until it is 100% broken in.

yes it sounds like shit, and it sounds terrible for the sub, but i guess its normal.

IS that a pete designed transmission line or somthing of that nature?? That box will NOT work with the c3 at all. You will most def bottom out..

Chime in doug..

Man you are going to kill that sub in that box. Id go with 4 cubes net @ 38 to 40. 12 to 16 square of port per net cubic and call it a day..

this box was built by rich aka stratusrt01. id like to tune to 40 personally but then most of the songs that i play will be playing below tuning then right? All i want is to be able to hit the lows full tilt

My "old" HD's are in a box tuned to 35Hz and peaked at 31Hz on the TL, so I think they can get low. Not sure how much different the HDC's are. I give mine 2k each all the time and have NEVER bottomed them or gotten them stinky.

I say go with 4.5^3 @ 35hz and you'll be very happy.

ok look at this vid guys, is this sub moving enough to bottom??? cuz if you put your head right at the sub you can barely hear a metallic sound!

u cant hear it in this vid but it is just barely audible in person, if i go any higher with the gain the noise gets louder, im not sure sundownz i really really like this sub alot and dont wanna screw it up but rich tells me that its like a dd and its gonna have mechanical noises that thats par for the course for an spl sub!
