ok so i finally got my hdc 12" copper coil hooked up, it in 2 cubes tuned to 38hz, 34 in^2 port area, sub forward port up (standard cab truck) running at 1 ohm off a bxi2006, trying to give as much information about the setup as possible.
the review: this is not going to be a technical review more so an opinionated on, so take it with a grain of salt.
to the people who freak out about the high tuning recommended for these subs (i was one of them) no need, hits the lows like a monster, hypnotize, white girl, blueberry yum yum, all hit with extreme authority. its quick and punchy when needed for rock, played slip knot duality and didn't miss a beat, kid rocks american bad *** sounds tight and punchy, plays seamlessly between notes, incubus wish you were here blended from note to note very well. the sub will play everything from hard rock, to rap, to country to jazz you name it, it does it very well. and for you bass heads, this this is STUPID loud for a single 12, flex's windshield and back window effortlessly, and it will definately pass into the pain thresh-hold, can not listen to it for more than a minute or so at full volume before a headache comes on.
i know this isnt a technical review but for the abreviated objective version...
will play anything... fast, slow, tight, punchy, hits lows extremely well and will get painfully loud when called upon. hope this helps some of you in your decision making
and as far as support, i contacted DJ about a few things and he responded within a couple hours, very helpful and very humble, easy guy to deal with and i would recommend audioque to anyone.
