ya i know those dps r awesome as hell.... and ya the orions have a recone kit.... i guess i have to hear an hcca before i buy

AFAIK the factory that built these has gone under and there's no more HCCA's or recones until DEI gets a new factory set up to produce them.

Actually the Orion is a very impressive driver mechanically, I doubt you'd kill them from excursion.....thermally, however, the coils are pretty wimpy guage wire, and though they're 4", the thermal power handling capabilities are lacking.

For daily ground pounder they'd probably be pretty nice if you kept them around their rated power, especially if you can get them for 350 ea. if you plan to do real SPL, there's better options.

Dunno much about the IA, so I can't comment.

the HCCAs are loud down low but its still a terrible design reguardless.. i can get 4 15s to do 150+@ 25hz.. its a matter of having the power and the proper tuning/cabin.. the DPs are superior by all means..

ya the recones r actually on sonicelectronix.com..... and ya i thought they were solid built too but i would only use it for a daily groundpounder..... it comes down to whether its worth it to spend an extra 260 bucks for dps
