have you heard any of these mid/high-end components?

The kickers can get quite loud but i didn't like the SQ. Focal are sick but the tweet is too harsh for me but atleast its better than the older model tweets. BA and Diamonds are good and CDT HD are good. The ES are slightly more SQ oriented and really need to be in a 3way setup. If you can I'd try to get the M6, ES-500 and drt-26S. Its quite nice and can get very very loud.

alter how do ba pros compare to hd62 w/drt-25 tweets? im running the hd set on 180x2 right now but been hearing really good things about the bostons. this the midbass that good? cuz i love midbass. one more thing the rms for ba pro is 125rms but how much can they really handle?

alot of the midbass response will really come down to install. Also it helps with how they are imaged and aligned/crossed with the sub. On a flat response I would say both set are comparable but with a little EQing the BA may get a little more midbass but to me will sound unnatural, the HD's will have a little more natural midbass but not over pronouced midbass if EQ'd but really excel in the midrange and overal mid to high transition to the tweet.

the BA can take more power but you need to listen to them and not push it. The HD's are very smooth and excel with a good amount of reserve power.

We use a LOT of Boston Pro 60s in my shop in different cars. They are simply great speakers. They bridge the gap from the $400 and down speakers , up to the $1000 price point like NO other speaker really can in my opinion.

out of those, i head the kicker SS, and the MB Q's, Q's were more "realistic" i felt, i would prolly get the Q's, but the kickers were absolutely amazing as well. each performed excellent.

thats all im good for

The only ones I heard on that list are the Bostons and CRTs. I didn't like the CRTs but loved the Bahstahns so much I bought some. They went as loud as my ears could take without distortion. Give them power though. 200-400 RMS is recommended.

I heard all the CRTs and the only ones I cared for at all were the 'spensive ones which were way overpriced, IMHO.

in no particular order oz, kicker and bostons would be my choices.but it depends what you want to do. if you want it loud and good get the bostons..if you want it a little more articulate i would go with either the oz or the kicker ss as to where they shine is when trying to totally blare them lol

nice setup list u got there rochambeau, pretty spensive ;D i have the same taste as you alpine electronics and boston speakers ftw
thank you... stuff's been on order for two weeks now and I am gettin' antsy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I guess it's the iPod cable that's taking forever to get shipped.

Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my wallet so I had to tone down my speaker choices from the Z6s. Those will be my first upgrade. Followed by another amp with some mid-bass then another amp and center channel. Those tiny, stackable amps are gonna be a godsend when all is said & done. Somewhere down the line an HD Tuner and TV tuner will probably find their way into the mix.

I have the Pro60's now. Great sound...but the tweet is a little bright. And I have the jumper set to the lowest setting on the crossover. And I too found the focals to be not all that impressive. They were pretty clear. But kind of shrieky if that's even a word. The JL ZR650CSi's were flat sick. But were $800 retail. There was a set of Kenwoods (believe it or not) that sounded pretty good too (XXV04s). But the guy was asking $900 for those. Granted this is all retail. The ones I found best of all of them were the HSK 165's. Although people are probably sick of hearing about them at this point.

Kicker, OZ, and MB Quart QSD's get my vote.

All strong speakers and get really loud and handle that amount of power!

I think you would like the Kickers the most coming from the pro60's

Ok...I'm an idiot. I took a better look and realized I have the Boston Pro 6.5's...not the 60's. I bought 'em like a year ago off ebay...cut me some slack...lol. So obviously disregard the part about the Bostons. I just went and listened to the Hertz again today and went ahead and bought em. They're sick dude...There's only one shop here in Sac that carries them. SQ all the way...
