im looking into getting a new sub/subs, and was wondering what the best out there are. i have looked and researched a lot online at a big variety of subwoofers but just wanted to talk to those of you who have personal experience with the many different brands. what do you think the best subs are? on a side note i have been looking into jl w7's and cant seem to settle on the size that i'd want to get if i decided to go with them...anyone that has 12w7 10w7 or 8w7's please feel free to post. thanks

When you ask questions like that you're going to get biased answers.

Certain things must be answered. Are you looking for a good sounding woofer or something loud? I'm going out on a limb here and anticipating your answer will be "a mixture of both".

Look at the following subs;

DC Audio Level 4

Fi Q

Incriminator Audio Flatlyne

SSA Icon

All of those subs will work well on 1,000 watts, and each one is cheaper than a W7...

alright thanks. and i like my music to bump, but since i drive a truck the sub sits so close to me that i can hear all the imperfections, so i have a 10 now because of that

Don't know. Depends on a lot of things...

The Sundown SA-8 and Digital Designs 1508 are both extremely nice...

I had a buddy that had some kove 8's back in the day in his truck and it POUNDED. Of course I'm talking late 90's :/ ... But anyway just depends on the set up the box and amp.

woofersetc.com has them in stock. They're also great woofers like you said. They're 400 a piece so I'd run a pair at 1k.
