i have a 15" R in the hatch right now, port firing back sub on top... 1200rms It's loud but i think i can eek a bit more out of it..

it is in a 4 cube box tuned to 35... i'm thinking of tuning it lower and making a smaller box...

any suggestions on how to fire my port/ sub, etc to make it as loud and sound as good as it should be???

Thanks

What kind of car do you have. I have a mitsubishi eclipse hatchback and run a 12' alpine type E and it sounds awesome. I have it fireing towards the rear. I did not buy a type R specificly because I had a hatch. If I had a type r it would blow the roof off with all of my other stuff. I would think with a 15' you should be able to tweek it to your taste. With it to the rear you get that xtra punch a hatch will provide. BTW I have a vented box and my puppy has more than enough for my taste. Good luck to ya!

I had a kicker solo baric (the old school round ones) in a integra hatchback. I tried lots of different boxes and directions. I ended up with a sealed wedged shaped box with the sub firing straight at the glass. Seemed to give it more time to build up.

I had four Pioneer 12's in my Ford EXP. Two fired at the glass and 2 fired forward. It was very nice. I ran them initially with an MTX 2300 but later went with two Orion Cobalt amps.
