hatch

i was afraid of that. . . it takes about 150lbs to hold it still. one of my friends has to put one hand on each corner and put all of his weight on it to get it to stop. i thought about welding it shut, but i didn't think thay would be such a good idea.
well, its a hatchback right? back seats fold down for access (?), you have NO trunk space anyhow, and its a great security measure....

not that i would do it to my ride, but it has been done time and again.

*edit* and DBFan is right, duct tape will work wonders.

what do you think about using the latches that holdthehood down on the jeeps, the bungee cord hook things. oneon each corner. that wouldn't look to bad. . . would it?

I was going to suggest something similar to the Jeep/HMMVW hood latch:

Racing car hood sometimes have two latches on the front left/right. It is simply a metal rod with a hole in it perpindicular to the mounting. Then a cotter pin (U-shaped, squiggles on on side, straight on the other) is inserted to hold the hood on.

Same thing in less words

Put those on the corners of the hatchback. Quick sketch is attached. (text is poopy, but it says the same thing as above, pretty much)
