Has Anyone Heard Pioneer's SPL Sub Perform?

I have done a search on this sub in pretty much every forum I can find as well as Google and the info on this sub is pretty much nil. I mean there are specs and technical info but I have yet to find any opinions on whether or not this subwoofer can even play a musical tone.

I am looking for a couple of subwoofers, and they must be in the 60LB range for my next install. The bigger the motor stucture the better, as it will be showcased in my install. Also I have heard many good things about the XXX's, W7's and Brahma"s but everyone seems to have them so I want something different.

So the question is, has anyone on this forum heard these subs and if so is it possible to install them in a specific enclosure to ensure sound quality?

Thanks.

So you are more worried about cosmetics than anything? There are plenty of drivers out with impressive motor structures. Some perform, some don't. The W0s have a tiny motor and perform very well for the price and market. I would suggest looking for something that pleases your ears first, but that's just me. If not, go for some proven performers that have the structure you want to attain and then use your ears.

wanna go different. SOUNDSTREAM SPLX series.

If these are anything like the old SPL160s and 170s, they will be pretty good drivers. I had a pair of the 160s in a 3 cube enclsosure and they were simply amazing. Do you have any experience with the new drivers? if so, please post your thoughts. I'm interested.

Ive had experience with the soundstream trantula (t4) 15 inch dvc sub. Its 1000 rms.

Its **** big and heavy. This sub seriously hit low, loud, clean. and accurate.

From woofers ive hear, i definatly put these over the L7's.

Thanks for the replies guys but all I am trying to complement the cosmetics of the install as well as sound really good. I am going to change my 95 GMC, short box, low rider, pick up truck into something like Alpine has done with that Honda Civic and the Mini. There will b a lot of fiberglass work for the enclosure, doors, dash and center console.

Bottom line is I do not want to show off the motor stucture of a W7. I like the looks of the new Alpine Subs, but right now I am waiting on the new driver from Treo and RE is coming out with two new subs at the end of the year besides the XMX, which is really way to impractical for a single cab pickup. I only wanted to know if the Pioneers sounded good as well as they looked cosmetically.

I just wondered if anyone else has seen or heard of something that was rare. Here are some pics of the new Treo sub, but I cannot attach the pic of the RE sub as the file is too big and I do not know how to make it smaller. But if you go to http://www.bladeice.com and enter their forum and then enter the RE info threads and look for the thread titled "Mmm New Stuff" there is a couple of pics of the new RE sub.

Thanks again for the input.

that pioneer is it a 5000spl or a 2000spl either or they sound awesome get real low and hit real ******* hard i owned a 5000spl with two memphis 2500ds and it rocked but then i got to many tickets than i sold it all. good luck 2000spl is as good if better than power hx2 spl wise. sq kills any fosgate kicker etc.

A guy had a pair of the big pioneers that I competed against, they sounded nice, but the 2500 watts he was giving them was not near enough.... If you dont mind powering them properly I'd say go for it...

Kenwood has a big motor sub, and I think ma audio's offerings are pretty cool too...

Go for the pioneer's heard nothing but good about them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif expecially the 2000 and 5000
