Half of stereo stolen, got $1000 to complete it - help!

I had the following setup until last week when the sub, box, amp and head unit was stolen. They left my front and rear speakers.

Pioneer premier 860

Infinity Kappa perfect 10.1 sub in custom sub box

5 channel amp (can't remember model but it was alpine)

Boston acoustics all around.

My insurance is giving me $1000 to replace the head unit, sub, box and amp. I know this isn't going to be enough so I'll have to throw in some money but I can't put in more than a few hundred. Any thoughts on what I should look for? I like tight, hq sound. 1 sub is all I need, probably a 10" like before. I was actually considering just getting a 4 channel amp and using it to power the front speakers and sub and not bother with rear speakers. Any suggestions on what to get?

Please keep in my that I'm trying to keep it about $1000 and this is including labor.

Buy an alarm. Then worry about replacing your system, unless of course you already had an alarm. I would hope your insurance requires that...

Thanks for the advice guys but I think I should explain a few more things. First, the car has an alarm. It doesn't do much good in LA where no one pays any attention to alarms. I'm in a "secure" garage but apparently it gets hit pretty often.

Also, the $1000 is including labor and this is all from my insurance company's stereo shop. So I can't go buy this stuff on the street and have them install it. The shop has to do everything. So head units that would cost 330 on ebay are probably 500 or so in a store.

Any suggestion on a good amp if I just powered a sub and the front speakers off of it? Before I only had 150 going through the perfect 10.1 and it sounded great although I'm sure I should have had more. What is a good new head unit equivilent to the pioneer 860? I play a lot of mp3 cd's so it would have to work with those well, which was hte one drawback I had with the 860.

one thing i dont get if their gonna pay a shop to do it then what is the shops name so we can have an idea what to tell you to get without knowing the shop we wont know what they charge. also why dont they just replace the stolen stuff with the exact things if their gonna have their stereo shop do it. and also most shops dont carry alot of brands some shops will push jl some will push kicker so what if the shop is not an authorized dealer for say pioneer and they cant get the stuff?

like in my case i have 2 memphis 4kws and ALOT of shops cant and will not get those so what happens their? whats the name of the insurance company?

im just asking so that just incase i ever get jacked my insurance company dosnt try the same bull on me.

Dude, I'm sorry but the scumbag who robbed you before now gets to come back and pick up all new shit that you just had put in. If you are renting, it might be time for a change.

Parking garages are bad. Once someone is in, they have pretty unrestricted access (since they can hear when someone is coming since a door/gate/etc. will open and it gives them time to hide.

LAWL - tell them to stuff it and that they cant make you go to their shop to replace your equipment.
