sounds like static

when I turn up the stereo in my truck just about max it starts to sound like static. Not distortion but static. It sound just like a bad radio reception. At the lower volumes I cant hear it though.

any suggestions?

Shouldnt turn it up to max.....The deck is clipping.

But I havew my gain turned down less than half way on my door speaker amp. should I hear it through the subs also?

Set your gains the right way, first of all. Theres a tutorial on this board.

Try that and see how it goes.

The first guy was correct... The preouts are probably clipping if you are nearing the max volume level. So regardless of what you have your gain at on the amps, if the input signal is clipped then the output will be as well...
