Half DIN DVD Players

So I plan on installing a half DIN DVD player to tie into my nav screen. My question is, should I be concerned about paying more for player x as opposed to player y. As long as it has a remote, adequate shock absorption, and plays DVDs, I don't really care about any other doodads or selling points. I just don't understand why I should pay $70 more for a player that says it does the same thing as a cheaper one. And for that matter, if anyone has specific brand suggestions, I'm all ears.

as far as the dvd player, yeah even a generic one will be fine in a car

when you are talking about amps and speakers you will notice that better stuff usually cost a bit more
