hair trick help

sup.. Hey i no you all know about the "hair trick" thing rite well im wondering what does it take to do that(tryed lookin for treads about this but no luck).. is it all about how many subs you have, box, or both. Im thinkin about in the summer getting 2 15 RE SX subs (or XXX 15) and was wondering if with this set up in a ported box or sealed..would it be able to do the hair trick. BTW i have a MTX 81000D. yea yea i no its MTX but is a good amp i think (for now) and would like some info on my "hair Trick" mission. thks alot guys.

lol @ hair trick...yea sorry to break it to you bud but i got a mtx1501d...very similar to your amp...and im not movin any kind of air...yea i have low end jls...but they hit. only hard enough to feel movement in my eyelashes on occasional hard hitting songs...only guys ive seen do that had several high end subs...not to mention amps...but then again maybe im wrong. good luck though

rite now i have an L5 15 in a ported box with the 81000D it hits aight but it can get low but not pass tunin tho it sucks... so with a better amp would it work with one of the subs im goin to get....

you better save up alot of cash to get that to happen. I have seen some blow out systems and that isnt a everyday driver thing happening normaly. I am thinking you are talking about the kicker truck the beast were they show the hair all over and the ballons popping. Besides thats way to loud because you couldnt even sit in that for long

to be honest with you at one time I had a very loud system for a driver. I never had the chance to get metered. But I day I was parked and beating out, and playing around with some bass cds. When I had a sudden pain in my chest like I was having a heart attack. Ever sence then I know now the damage that it can do. There is a thread in here I wish I knew were it was, but talks about someone in here that had a loud system and a cold at the same time and it made him blind in one eye. Scary stuff when you think about it.

Ear protection is a must, also, when working on systems like this...

I too remember that thread abotu audio safety from cant remember his name , but about how he lost most of his eyesight in one eye due to extreme vibration on the eye nerve. There is a such thing as too Loud. I mean I love a loud system but be cautious and careful. The hair trick is mostly done with test tones on extreme SPL setups daily's prolly wont happen unless you have a extreme setup. Other then that stick to the port trick.
