Hey out there in stereoville.

I need a H.U. And some help.

I'm considering the following H.U.'s Clarion DXZ-435 , Eclipse CD5423, Alpine CDA9813 & the Blaupunkt San Francisco CD 72.

Have heard all except blaupunkt. which I saw in crutchfield catalog .

Clarion's price $249 installed. Eclipse price $329 installed. Alpine $375 installed. Blau's price $549 from catalog.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!

I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP.

Well, you obviously don't care much about mp3 given some of your choices(I don't care about mp3 either). I would take the eclipse. I have owned most major brands(pioneer, alpine, kenwood, clarion, and 4 eclipses). I prefer eclipse over everything else I have owned.

i would deffinetly take the eclipse over anything, but if there would be a second choice i would go with alpine they are great for what you pay for them especially if they have the V-drive with or with out that they are good hu's

You are right about MP3's, I don't have any need for them at this time.

All I'm looking for is sound quality & durability.

I have a small car, so skipping is a concern!!

Any problems with Eclipse???

Thanks for replies.....

I agree with you about your reply, So far from what I've heard, Eclipse and then

Alpine.

Thanks for the reply z24max.....

i would have to say alpine then eclipse. i have had both and i like the v-drive that alpine has. but they both r very good deck's.

I'm finding it to be a tough choice, because alpine has features I really like, but I liked eclipses sound a little better.

Thanks for the info.....

yeah looks like you are in a bind i have owned a alpine-9813 it has great sound great adjustability. my friend has an eclipse they are very close, id go with whatever deck you like and think will be the best in the long run

One of the things I liked about alpine was the V-drive.

But there are two things that I'm questioning about running two amps (the V-drive & a sub amp) and those are

my battery and altenator. It might be better to only hook up one amp to run the speakers & the sub.

Any thoughts please let me know....

THANKS FOR THE REPLY jaw041383...

look into the panasonic line, i have the cq-df903u and i love it, if you go up one model you can get the mp3 playing one, but it has a really nice high-def. display and 5 volt outputs and 2 sets of auxilary inputs, its a really nice h.u. and im happy with it
