Is there something I must attach to the impala to control voltage after adding a new H/O alternator? I have read about others attaching a charger to their new alternator to keep the voltage consistent. As of now, with new battery, BIG 3, and 270amp alternator I am still getting drops in voltage... and only because the voltage being regulated is too low with my stereo. I know the car is trying to keep my voltage at a certain factory level and is hindering my alternator.

DC Power XP Alternator 280 amps. Supposed to hold 140 amps at idle. Which is why I cant understand why lights still dim and voltage is changing from 13.2 - 14.1.

I would expect it to stay at 14.1 easily...
