Hmmm I think I will test the water with the batts I'm getting and one alt see what she does. If she drops to low then I will either add a second alt or a 4th batt. Thanks guys

That is the best way to know. When they are saying that you do not need 2 alts for 5k. Think about it mathematically.

5000 watts means your amps are demanding 500 amps. How is a 270/320 amp alternator enough? it isn't. It is enough in the sense that you will stay at 12.5-13.5v. But I don't about you. But my goal is to always be at 14.4v

that is ideal to stay at 14.4 but if you buy amps that make good power at around 12-13.5 volts your golden and your not out ac/money for alt and fabing a bracket etc etc.

The fact that I'm running 5k+ mids and highs and my sub amps are at .5 each and my voltage stays above 14.5 most of the time with 1 300 amp alt, means that I think he should be able to do it as well, especially running more batteries than I have.

On paper that looks good, but unless your driving around listening to test tones, you will not see near that amperage on music ever.

yeah unless your competing and using a meter youll never notice 1.5-2volts

I'm ok with some drop but I'm looking to stay safe. Spending lots of money would rather not waste it

youll be fine with 1 alt 2 is overkill and you can use that money else where
