First off, I don't think the current gov't is trying to "take" anyone's guns away, nor do I think it will happen anytime soon. "Gun control" is about the only popular issue that I side with the Republicans on, for the reasons I stated earlier.

It was very big for a while, but hasnt been around lately.

Just because the media sets the agenda, doesn't set the value of the issue...

The current adminstration has been very lenient on firearm policy. Bush let the assault weapons ban expire, which was nothing more than a paper tiger anyway...just something to make politicians look good, while doing little in reality.

Seriously...having the guns isn't the problem. Thousands of people kill each other with motor vehicles every day, and you don't see a citizen campaign to rid the land of cars. If you keep your weapons in a proper safe, with trigger locks and ammo stored somewhere else also under lock and key, you shouldn't have a problem.

Where people get into trouble is they have guns in easily accessible places, so if emotions flare, there's no time to think about your actions before you have a round in the chamber.

I completely agree, if guns are outlawed, the criminals and the popo's will be the only ones that have them, and they are the only ones that misuse them anyways...

What do you guys think about the government trying to take away citizins guns? It might happen someday, which would be a sucky day.

I am in control of my guns at all times.

There is more action towards gun control then most you guys think, especially with state laws. Alot of these laws are passed without anyone ever knowing about it. Fortunately ther have been some good laws also go into effect that protect the second and of course the AWB expireing. But the blue people are still always trying to go after something all the time.

For me I will be ready for the day when the SHTF and when all hell breaks loose. As for any friend of mine that cares about survival and freedom they will be glad to know a guy like me. I keep stockpiles of supplies that is always ready and will be constantly expanding my preparedness in the future.

FYI, I have alot of redneck gun freak friends in Texas along with several other parts of the country and go to several gathering with people of the same interest all from the internet gun community.

WTF are you talking about anyway, If the SHTF OK and TX will benefit mostly by sticking together.
