Seriously...having the guns isn't the problem. Thousands of people kill each other with motor vehicles every day, and you don't see a citizen campaign to rid the land of cars. If you keep your weapons in a proper safe, with trigger locks and ammo stored somewhere else also under lock and key, you shouldn't have a problem.

Where people get into trouble is they have guns in easily accessible places, so if emotions flare, there's no time to think about your actions before you have a round in the chamber.

The first time my landlord saw me walk outside to goto my car with my .45 in hand I was asked why in the world I carry that thing with me.

"I'm above 21, am not a felon, and a bunch of fellas 200+ years ago saw fit to ensure that I had a legal right to do so," was my response.

like jim said, guns dont kill people, people kill people. some people are just stupid about their guns and dont properly store them, leading to accidental deaths and whatnot.

If you really want to make it more difficult for the bad guys stop worrying about the guns and start controlling the ammo, it seems to me that those things don't work so good with out the bullets.

Chris Rock did a stand up routine about this, he suggested that we raise the price of bullets to a piont that only people with jobs could afford them in small numbers.

Just my thoughts.

then people cant afford them for practice thus resulting in lots of people with bad aim.

First off, I don't think the current gov't is trying to "take" anyone's guns away, nor do I think it will happen anytime soon. "Gun control" is about the only popular issue that I side with the Republicans on, for the reasons I stated earlier.

Well I dont know a whole lot about gun control. It was very big for a while, but hasnt been around lately. Does anyone know what is going on with it now.
