group D51R battery?

i was planning to get an optima in size D51R (the size i needed) but cannot find it locally. so i looked around sears and they had their diehard series. the north and south versions of the all weather and then their gold series.

they seem promising but im looking for more of an deep cycle for dual starting purposes and to support my stereo equipment.

what alternatives are their besides the optima yellow top? i have an 03 civic and it has the reversed terminals i believe. im guessing group D51R is the size that all battery manufactuers would use that fit my car?

ive already checked autozone, kragen, pepboys, and walmart and none carry group 51

autozone and pepboys both called the optima company warehouse and they told them they do not have the yellow D51R in stock and that those models had factory defects so they stopped producing them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

will a diehard or duralast battery benefit me over my OEM one when it comes to my car electrical system and light dimming?

is that available at the stores mentioned above? how does it perform as far as starting and deep cycle purposes?

i noticed the hc1400 model is mentioned for honda/mitsu fit...i wonder if that'll be a direct fit?

No, you would need to order it from someone.

Odyssey batteries might have a group 51.

Probably cheaper than kinetik since you cant get any discount on that model.

every autostore said optima no longer has the D51R in stock at their warehouse.

will the D34/78 fit as a replacement? i know its a tough fit but ill be removing the plastic tray and maybe bend the tie down latch a little =\

and i dont know too much about exceeding the CCA/RC on batterys, but the techs at pepboys/autozone said more CCA wouldnt hurt. the d34/78 has 250 more CCA over the D51R...what you guys think?
