Ground wiring question

Alright a couple of weeks ago I did the big 3, well for the grounds I ran an engine block to battery negative and chassis to battery negative. Is this alright, instead of running neg to block, block to chassis. I figured since the point on the chassis I was going to run the engine block ground to was right next to the battery that I could just go to that.
