Ground wire on seat frame?

i have used the seat bolt before, make make **** sure that you scrap off the paint so you wont get to much noise form it, but honestly dude, 3 feet of ground is to much man
no. 3 feet of ground is not too much.

your 3 feet of ground is connected to 10-12 feet of chassis...which acts as an extension of that 3' ground wire you just placed and which is then connected to the negative battery terminal.

how do you think your amp is grounded to the battery (the negative terminal is the only true ground in the car....)?

thank you! someone who agrees to the same thing as I do. I have been told time and time and time again that anything more than 3ft was way too long. I always begged to differ with them...now i feel betteR:)

people should be more worried about how good the chosen grounding point is, instead of worrying about the length of the ground wire.

one will screw you over...one wont. ill let you decide //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I agree again. Doesnt matter how long your ground is. It's where you choose to put it. As it says in the thread about finding a proper ground. Sand down/scrape paint off if necessary...and dadedadeda:D

Yeah I was wondering about allthat, 3 feet of ground seemed like it was a reasonable number... thanks again guys, the info helped a lot!

1' of 4 ga wire has 2 and a half TEN-THOUSANDTHS of an ohm of resistance. A foot or two of wire is NOT significant.

100A through 1' of 4 ga = .025 volts dropped

2' ---> .05v

3' ---> .075v

4' ---> .100v

5' ---> .125v

Even between 1' and 10' the difference is only .25v. It's a difference on paper, and MAYBE on a mic if you have an unregulated amp.

To your ears, or anything else that matters - no difference whatsoever.
