Ground wire on seat frame?

Ok, so I was poking around in my 2003 Honda Pilot looking for an easy place to put the ground wire... On the second row seats (the sub is going on top of the third row seats) there's a screw in the seat frame that fits the exact size of the ground wire connector thing. Is it possible to place it on that? I don't wanna drill a hole in my car

Oh and is 3 feet of ground wire too much? I wanna leave it some slack so it'll be at about 3 feet.

yeah, that would work nicely too, considering my amp kit came with two of them. Shit's just flyin over my head today like VROOOOM

a foot or two of ground wire is not an issue -- 3', 5', use what you need to get a good metal to metal ground.

I would expect a seat bolt to be threaded into a pretty substantial piece of steel. As long as there isn't a thick coating of paint or other resistive material between the wire terminal and the metal it should work pretty well.

i agree. just make sure u scrap off any paint that would touch the wire termanal (sp?) itself.

i have used the seat bolt before, make make **** sure that you scrap off the paint so you wont get to much noise form it, but honestly dude, 3 feet of ground is to much man
how is three feet to much? i wont be able to mount the amp on the sub as plannedif it is.

Nah, 3ft should be fine. That's what I'm using in my Camry right now.

Use a multimeter to check the voltage using that bolt as the ground. There shouldn't be much, should be zero, difference between your + wire and that bolt compared to what you measure at the battery.

Originally in my Camry, I used the bolt for the seatbelt before I decided I rather not tamper with the seatbelts. My passengers' lives are more valuable than my system. I ended up using the bolt that holds one of the back seat cushions on.
