Headunit Wiring Installation...

Well, for christmas, I thought i'd treat myself to a new headunit for my car, I go to crutchfield, buy a new alpine headunit, and I go to install and I see this..

Now, i'm wondering, the previous owner of this vehicle must've decided to not buy a wiring harness at all for the headunit he used to replace the factory one, so he just spliced it directly in, when I hook up the wiring harness i've received with the package to the one in the car, is it still going to work? What happened here?

Well assuming that the previous owner wasn't an idiot and at least wrote down what wires went where and did a good job butt splicing the wires back together, it shouldn't be a problem. If it is you might have to track down some wiring diagrams if something doesn't seem to be working right...

You could buy a harness from Parts Express to replace the harness that was removed from your car.

The other otion would be to just cut the wires in the dash and splice the connections for your new stereo.
