Fewer cuts in the line. The more places where the line is cut and has another connection is more places where you can have a bad connection, come loose, increaed resistance or arching.
It's probably not a big deal, but as a general principle; whenever you have the option of running a wire straight without cutting it, you should not cut it.
To do it just for looks means you are choosing looks over reliability.
