Ground Loop Isolator Killing Mids

I was having major noise out of my system so I instaled a ground loop isolator and now I can't hear the "voice" in my mids but I hear every thing else.

Is this common? Any ideas?

Normally you lose most of your bass response, i coudln't stand losing most of the bass from my speakers so i took it off and just lived with the noise for a while, then got not lazy and regrounded my hu, which helped but completely, then stopped being cheap and replaced my amp, which completely got rid of it. It amused me that my POS old jensen amp didn't have any alt noise, yet my new profile had it horrible, but whatever. Good luck, its a ***** fixing that.

I have never used one since if you correctly wire your system up there is rarely a need for one. Try relocating all of your grounds to one spot, thereby eliminating any potential differences from one ground to the next. Make sure the body of your amplifier is not touching anything metal (in otherwords isolated from ground). Also make sure your ground connection is large enough to handle the current flow and has a solid, clean connection to your car body.

Well I ran my ground to the case of my hu and that helped out alot but there is still a little alt noise. I can live with it for now since you can only hear it when the volume is very low. And I'm getting another amp for my interiors soon so I'll figure it out when I'm doing that install.

I have the same problem. I grounded everything to the same point, including the head unit, and ran power from the distro block in the back to the HU also, and that helped some. Then I added on 2 ground loop isolators on the rca jacks, and that got rid of most of the noise. The isolators are funny though, you have to position it just right or the noise comes back. I'm gonna move them back and mount them next to the amp to fix that problem. I'm looking for more midbass response, so maybe the isolator has something to do w/ it!
