Ground Help

It doesn't matter if the battery ground is not connected in ANY WAY to the chassis. None of his electronics are connected to the battery ground to cause the ground you speak of.
i corrected myself. i missed the part where the neg post was unhooked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

you are correct sir

and I'm getting 2 volts when I touch the wire that I just connected to that ground I made. Guess that's a good sign that when I connect it to the battery I will get 12v again?
That test is pointless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif You should connect the ground to your battery and then check it. It should read the same voltage as when you touch the pos and neg posts on the battery.

Okay guys thanks for the help.. I reconnected the negative post and now I'm getting 12.6v when I touch the new ground, the post, and the wires so thats good! What about grounding the engine block... do you think that the one with the screw in it will work? Any way I can test if it works after I connect it?

That screw looks fine. It appears to be connected to a solid metal piece of the block.

You can test it the same way you tested the other ground.

burton = fail

stepchild = heaven...

jib stick coming out next year... omg, i blew a load in my pants ridin it for the first time

also how close is the ground to the battery?

Okay so i probe the positive terminal on the battery and then probe that wire when it's connected and I should get like 2 volts because it isn't connected to the battery correct? Or should I ground to the battery?

I don't ride a burton board.. it's just a name i have used for all forums and xbox live for years so that's why i have it. I have a rome board and thinking about getting a neversummer this year, but i'm not sure yet. But the wire is like 12 inches long and it's about 4 inches away from the battery to the ground..

Just connect the ground wire to the chassis and the block and then test it.
