Government Shutdown

wtf does it matter if payroll is pre tax or not? my company takes in $250k and i have a $50k payroll and pay $50k in taxes. so if pre tax hike i end up with $150kish sweet. i am going to still take home that 150k even after they raise taxes. so now, i start with $250k, Taxed $75k, payroll only getting $25k. see where im going
Why do you hire people? Maybe you could just fire everyone and make $175k!.

Hmm. What are payroll taxes then? You do realize that having something as a tax deduction does not mean it counter-balances taxes due, right?
Yes, but what I'm saying is that taxes don't prohibit companies from hiring people. There isn't a company in the world that says "I can't hire anymore people because taxes are too high!" because payroll is deductible. Payroll taxes included. And being that businesses hire to serve a demand (darn! I gave away the answer to my question above) and not for the good of the community, taxes have no direct effect on hiring.

The government is a bunch of bullshit anyways. We need to rethink our strategies at how to actually run a country.
Think again about everything government does and come back. Our standard of living would be nothing compared to what it is not without government. Too many people take it for granted or just don't understand.

*woosh* The sound of csu's point going right over your head. You are so busy trying to think 3 steps ahead to look witty, that you've lost sight of the fact that you were checkmated a while ago.

I absolutely love all the arrogance in everything you say. You come up with the worst logic ever, or say something so elementary a small child would understand, then act like you are the first person ever to have such an intellectual break through. Gosh you are so right, all those people who dont realize the benefits of not living in a lawless society of anarchy would surely vote Democrat if they only had a brain.

Usually you wait for someone to mention that Republicans are (suppose to be) for smaller govt before you retort with your vision of our landscape with NO government. Because you are unable, or unwilling, to discern between smaller govt, and no govt. And this time you didnt even wait that long, Buck was merely making the point we need to change HOW we are governed, not whether or not we should have govt at all. But you apparently missed that little detail in your aggressive enthusiasm to say something smart.

1. To do work so i dont have to

2. less money because of taxes means less money to spend on payroll. Doesnt necasarily mean Im not hiring, but I will be cutting back. Be it wage decreases, new guys with cheaper pay rates, etc. So yeah i may be hiring, but its only to replace the veteran guys that have worked for me for so long that their pay is hirer then someone that can do the same job, but starts out as entry level pay. Dont get hung up on the numbers i threw out, those were just to make a point. ALL companies only worry about their bottom line and if someone tells you different, they are lieing or going to fail miserably at business. Youre statement that taxes have no effect on the hiring of people leads me to believe you have no idea what goes into the accounting and finances of business, big or small. Anytime something affects the net profit, something else will suffer. Sure, might not be payroll, maybe quality, maybe production, etc. Fact is that upping taxes on small businesses is not what is going to help this country.

SOB i got trolled

I was talking more of federal government, but not state.
So was I.

I find it interesting how you seem to put more thought in my responses to other people than in my responses to you. Look how hard YOU try to say something smart.

If people realized that our way of life was supported in every way by the government, they wouldn't say stupid things like "government is a bunch of bullshit" and worry about how we are being governed. It's like someone driving a car across the country in a day in a half and when the radio reception gets bad they call it a ******* piece of ****.

Sure, there is a lot of bickering going on, but (and I'm sorry for stating facts about a particular party audioholic) it's all coming from the Republicans. They don't give two shits about the deficit, they're just trying to redefine government to what they want, which is basically what we had going into the 1900s. Proof is the fact they they're so against raising taxes AT ALL, even though every single expert in the universe (hyperbole alarm) says that you can't rid the deficit by spending cuts alone. Proof is the fact that they nearly shut the government down over .00007% of the budget because of planned parenthood because they don't like that 3% of the procedures they do are abortions.

less money because of taxes means less money to spend on payroll.
No, it doesn't. Taxes could be 100% and businesses could still hire as many people as they need to serve their demand. And being that businesses only hire to serve their demand, if demand doesn't go down, employment won't go down. There may be some pseudo effects of taxation on employment, but that's really only lag from a change in demand or over-hiring anyway.

Government has been backing off for 30 years. Look at where it was brought us.

Won't disagree there/
And I put there instead of their. Wasn't that a great example //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
