Cool. What speakers are you running with that?
Cheapo's. Hand me downs from my dad. They are Toshiba's from a Toshiba home theater set, but the receiver crapped out. So I wanted something that won't break the bank to power them....and also would be a basis for upgrading later.

Eventually I'd like to get some Klipsch or B&W's. Maybe get an amp by Rotel as well. For sub I'm getting a Fathom. But all that's way down the road. My Toshib'as will suffice in my apartment. I got 4 satellites, one center channel and a passive sub.

It lets me use 1080p so, for me, it is an improvement...
I still like optical sound cable..............
Component will do 1080P. The **** mfgs are trying to shove HDMI down your throats and for the most part, people are buying into the marketing. It offers no advantage and in some case can be more costly and harder to implement over a large system. For most "average" consumers that would be a moot point, but a point nonetheless.

Agreed, but convenience is it's only real strong suit. When budget is a concern, HDMI is not necessary one bit.
So, instead of buying just 3 hdmi cables, I should go buy 3 component leads and 2 optical cables? Seems alittle contradictory to the budget argument. Not to mention an inconvience of double switching inputs...

Pretty cheap receiver man, hope it doesnt break down on you. JVC?.....come on man...
