Got Wood?

less flex = more spl
well, technically, less fless = keep same cabin gain\resonant frequency, while more flex will change the interior volume, and change the resoant frequency.

so less flex dosnt mean less spl in all cases. less flex = known resonant freq so its eaiser to tune the box and keep the SPL you are looking for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

but looks nice. that wood must weigh a few hundred pounds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

im liking. take some pics of engine\inside\wiring\batteries and such. im interested in interior stuff!!! >_

that wood must weigh a few hundred pounds
more than that...I've got to close the weight rating of my van with nothing but 3/4" ply and a shitload of 2x4's, which don't touch 1" MDF for density and per unit mass.

Bet it was fun driving up 220 (I would assume that's how you went, if you went to NC for the wood) with a trailer full of that on back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not going to be a single pic of the interior //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
ive got a drawing of the interior plan. super high details, reveals all the secrets, drawn in permanent marker for longevity, drawn on a notepad for convenient travel size.

i start the bidding at $13.57 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

too bad nobody understands it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and i'd drive to north carolina to rid you of your testicular fortitude with a spork

The guy that owns the vehicle lives in Charleston, WV...so he went down 77 to get the wood for the build

and yes, it was all we could do to lift a 5'x9' sheet of it...i'd say upwards of 325lbs a sheet

To each their own obviously, and I don't mean to be critical, but I don't get it. That is an a$$ load of $, time and effort into a dedicated car and for what, a sub-second burp? At the highest level, do these contests begin to recoup your investment?

If you never try it you'll never know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW i've got an SQ vehicle to, don't hate...i love all aspects of car audio

Well, I guess it all hinges on bank. If you've got, blow it. Personally, I'll drop $3-4K on an SQ system beyond which I stash for a house. No one else is looking out for my future, that's for sure.

I don't get it a lot of it either, but I respect the time and effort that goes into it. And besides, it's a hobby, it's supposed to **** up money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Technically YOU don't have wood either... YOU have MDF...hehehe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

we all do it for the same reason anyone does anything... bragging rights/pride. its the same reason people want nice cars, fast cars, shiny things, big wheels, or any of that. people see it and go oohhhhhh, and for most people, thats enough to make it worth it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I can see that I guess, but I still have a problem with the return value. An SQ system you can enjoy for hours on end for years on end, and at what I'm guessing is a fraction of the cost. But then I'm not a competitive person by nature. In fact, I'm a downright selfish motherbanger when it comes to music - it's all about the Me.
