Got to love the smell of fried equipment in the morning!

set it to read dc volts and read it at the amp as it is playing. probe the plus and negitve of the amps terminals while its hitting a good beat. That will show what the voltage is at the amp when under load. Also car should be on. You should read no less then 12, idealy it should be in the 13.5 range, +/- .5 volts.

At idle, no bass, should read about 14.4 or a little less, and under load no less then 12. anything under that will cause the amp to shut off and go into protect, not blow.

K...thanks edzy...you've been a great help....seeing as that amp will not turn on i will have to do it with this other amp. That shouldnt make a difference right? Or will it considering it is a smaller amp?

well, you will atleast see what that amp is drawing. If you drop way down on that amp, then something may be wrong. But while that runs it should stay in the 13.5 range +/- 1 volt.

Ok thanks again...ill check it out tomorrow when i can get my hands on a dmm!

dont know if these was mention but one really cold morning for foggy mornings,, condensation attracts to the amp and the board, then you fire it up,. it get hot quick, and it could be like pouring water on your amp

my 2500d just went poof at a gas station a while back, just went poof lol, oh well get it fixed and move on... btw your 800w of underrated power from the RF may not be as much of a diff as you think to your 1200w aq amp.

so you saying the RF may do 1200? or the AQ does only 800?

Oh trust me it does.....i used to run this RF and as soon as i got the AQ it seemed louder and the bass seemed more crisp, for the lack of a better word. But i think the main problem is the RF isnt stable to 1 ohm and that is the load that i am giving it. it works, but i liked the AQ alot better. Plus the fosgate has no subsonic filter, which kinda scares me since i now have a ported box.

I thought about that too....but there wasnt frost in my trunk or anythin. When its more around 0 there is some frost in my trunk, but it has never caused any issues. Im just starting to think it was defective.....i mean i guess it doesnt really matter what happened, for its covered by warranty, but i just wanted to make sure it wasnt something i could have avoided ya know! Im sure DJ will tell me what went wrong once they recieve the amp...which isnt going out till thursday.
