Got the new amp: Stetsom 4k2d (pics)

i few people that i know that ran them blew them. i have also been told customer service is laquing.

small(ER) footprint and big power would go with soundigital have heard NOTHING but good from them.

just to make it clear i run neather brand...

I figured this thread would turn into a shit throwing contest.

I'm not going talk any shit until I dial this b!tch in and report what I find. I've yet to mess with it, and I have to work nights the next 4 days, then I'm out of town for a few days.

But believe me, my test will be done in a proper environment with sufficient voltage to the amp, and we'll see what she does. If it bangs, you'll hear about it. If it blows in a month, you'll hear about it. I'm just as skeptical as everyone else on this forum; I had to get one.

If someone will let me borrow a TL mic, I can show numbers too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ive been running the 4k2d since the end of summer and I have to say its a great amp. Very very powerful and stays cool to the touch even after an 8hr trip of pretty loud bumping. Ive had two 2k6d's before this and once again absolutey no problems at all. Can't go wrong with stetsom.

I do have one question about the Stetsom... What is the SQ like compared to a conventional Class D or Class AB amp? I know subwoofer SQ is an oxymoron, but I would like to know how it keeps up with fast transitions like Drum and Bass OR Thrash Metal with fast double bass drum pumps.

The brutal power supply switching is one of the things that kept me away from grabbing a MMATS class D and I was wondering if the Stetsom was the same.....

I will definitely comment on this as well, man.

I would like to make a comment about the M3 amp, I am a proud owner of 2 M3's and Jeff is right. If high power is what your after, than the M3 can deliver, but it does so @ low impedance loads such as .5 ohms. @ 4 ohms after rise starting at 1 ohm nominal my M3 makes about 800 watts rms@ 13.1v. So it is underated, but The stetsom will make much more power @ higher impedances. If it was my decision I would get the stetsom,as a matter of fact I'm looking to get either a 4k2d or a used 7kd myself.

I had a 2k6d and it ran fine daily for me for hours at a time. I've heard a few stetsoms and they're pretty nice amps. Leaning more towards SQ-LSQ, I couldn't stand the 30seconds of loud fan startup....lol...Great amps though.

well i have 2 40.1s & i just got 2 stetsom 7k2d amps. i can see a considerable increase in power with the stetsoms.

Try just one 7k2d and you will hear a major differance in power then the 2 IA40.1's

I had the same thing before 2 IA40.1's strapped and then I sold them and got the regular 7kd. I was doing 500 watts more then the 40.1's with one 7kd. Now I have one 7k2d and that thing kills the 7kd... Great amps ....

The SQ is right on with a CLass D amp..
