Got my Amp now I need...

your advice to make sure I install and set it up properly.

1) Alpine CDA-9887 Head Unit

1) Crunch p900.4 Amplifier

PowerZone Series 4-Channel AB Car Amplifier

Peak (Dynamic) Power Rating:

2 ohms: 225 watts x 4 chan.

Will be wiring it 4 Channel Full Range

A) Do I want to use the crossovers on the HU and set the crossovers on the amp to full?

 

B) It will then be set up to run at 2ohms? With the speakers being 4ohms does that matter?

 

C) Where would be a good ground source if the AMP is installed towards the back of the vehicle?

 

D) How would I properly mount the AMP to the floor? Do I drill directly into the floor?

You can invoke the high pass filter on the deck if you so choose to OR run it active. Since you didn't purchase component speakers, I suggest using the built-in High Pass filter on the Alpine.

If the amp can run 4 ohms stereo on two channels it will not have any problems running 2 ohms on the other channels since it is 2 ohm stable. Word of caution, those Infinity Reference speakers are NOT true 2 ohm drivers because they are guaranteed to work with any 4 ohm setup!

C) Where would be a good ground source if the AMP is installed towards the back of the vehicle?

Wherever you can find a nice, shiny, clean, paint free metal surface close to your amps. It would help if that metal was close to a frame rail, but it isn't always necessary.

D) How would I properly mount the AMP to the floor? Do I drill directly into the floor?[/color]

I would take great pains to NOT mount the amp directly to any sheet metal. Doing so makes it a magnet for outside generated noise to make its way into your system. I have seen instances where isolating the mounting screws/bolts from the amplifier and vehicle metal has cleaned up noise.

Much thanks on the quick feedback - is there somewhere you can forward me to that would explain how to properly mount an amplifier so I can read up on it?
