I still don't see how the alpine dsp can be so complicated that an "an electrical engineer by degree" has little to no clue how to set it properly. If it was that bad it wouldn't have so many decent reviews of it. At least you got lucky(?) with an inheritance so you can throw money at a potentially competent installer to do your thinking for you.

I didn't really TRY to even work with/configure this stinkin' Alpine DSP thing either!! I prefer to pay someone to do this kind of work FOR ME!! And I haven't mentioned it to anyone at JML but I'm hoping if I get them to "go wild" on my Leaf that I MAY be able to talk them into converting Baby II's system for full active EQ and tune my Alpine DSP for that too! I need someone who really knows how to configure this Alpine DSP because the instructions are very VERY confusing to me. Poorly written IMHO too! VERY poorly!

Nope never needed too ! I always figured out how to turn things on by either the instructions or figuring it out on my own, Seems much easier than redesigning it ! Plus if I couldnt figure out how to turn it on I seriously doubt I could really rewrite the software anyways!

Problem is, JML will NOT work with prepurchased customer equipment!! I know,m I asked! Snobs!! I'm an Electrical Engineer, I'll bet I know more about car audio that YOU DO! All forms of electrical equipment too!

No, I'm sure there a business like all others, primarily capitalist, and that's a whole other argument!!

What they are after is people with a LOT of money and want a really excellent auto audio equipment and other electronic crap installed. (The more other electronic crap they can sell, the more MONEY they make!)

I am interested ONLY in car audio equipment and I fell in love with Alpine equipment when I had an all Alpine system installed by a now defunct St Louis shop. Hi Fi Fo Fum!! So I researched and bought a bunch of high end Alpine equipment, contacted JML and they basically told me to **** off! So NOW I'm saying SCREW JML!!! And they have a very savvy and smart person very electronically MAD at them!

I'd be more concerned with the termite/water damage to your handy-dandy "shed" / "garage" ( using those terms loosely )than getting your system EQ'd.Priorities FTW!

I hope the garage collapses....destroys his new car. That would be the icing on the cake.
