I got my truck metered and im not into the caraudio big enuff to compete but im wondering what you think about this. i got 2 kicker l7 10s in a ported box with a jl 500/1 amp pushin them. Its in a extended cap truck (ford ranger). It turned 129db legal and 142.5 outlaw. Is this not bad or is it crap just wondering. Also any suggestions on what songs to play while doing this. How large is the enclosure and what is it tuned to?

I'd probably be happy at around 130 legal with that amount of power if I wasn't looking to compete.

yeah they did the outlaw rite at the port of the box. Im not to sure of the size of that box. It was built buy a box builder around my town. He builds the best boxes around with a one month wait list. He built it to the kicker recomendations i believe for the average spl and stuff he was tellin me. Any recomendations on what to do to get it louder???

dont ya think thats a little to much watts for a ported box?? Wouldnt they blow often or nahh. What other suggestions are possible to get it louder?

Is it loud enough for you when you listen to it?

If so, then why worry about it. Unless your motivation for a system is numbers on a meter, and not the music.

But if you want louder, then add a second 500/1. The kickers will be fine on that power.

what is the port tuning on the box ?

if you want it louder tune it higher. and get another 500.1.
