Got in an accident too...

So I was in the turning lane behind a Toyota Rav4 and the light turns green... the guy takes off and then a police turns on his light and goes through traffic... the guy slammed on his brakes and I did too, just a second too late.

My car got ****ed up, from the pictures it's bad... but I'm gonna take it to the body shop tomorrow. I need a new hood, grille, new hood struts, and the mount for the headlights is bent. Their car's bumper got a little out of shape... but not bad at all.

No points, no insurance... paying for it out of insurance when I get the estimates back. Don't worry, still going to be able to afford the wall.

Nah everyone's fine, we were going under 5 mph... my car is 4000 lbs and everything is built with heavy metal... goes to show how little a thing can **** your car up

Mom wouldn't let me get collision on my insurance because my car isn't worth it (it is to me though) and their damage will wind up being less than my deductible...

indeed, lesson learned.
it was my fault for not being more alert... i was rushing my brother to a gym appointment, i had my music a little loud where i couldn't hear the police siren and the lights change VERY quickly on this road... so i tried to be nice by rushing before it turned yellow.

no ticket, no police report, no points... we both go to the body shop tomorrow for some estimates... i have a friend who owns a local body shop.

Thanks... we honestly didn't even get jerked, the car took the impact.

As bad as it is, I'm still finding good in it. The hood struts are bent (they hold the hood up) so the body shop will be replacing them.. which is good because they fall on us everytime we're under the hood. The front bumper had tons of paint chips I was too lazy to get fixed and the headlights on the right we're never aligned right. Now I get all that fixed... still have to pay for it though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

**** dude you gotta do everything i do? mine was quoted @ $4500 to fix. still fighting with the insurance because they are still investigating (why i dont know since the other guy got the ticket for running the red light.)

Ruckus, sucks about the Civic... it really is "accident season" - everyone I know is getting into accidents.
