i ran into the same problem back in winter, i got a estimate for a new hood paint and blended to my car was like 1500 from a bunch of the local shops but i wasn't going to pay that or the $500 deductable. i tried to get my boss to pay some of it since i was also making a pizza delivery but that didnt work so eventually i searched on a forum that was for my car and found a used one that was the same year for only $150 that was a perfect match. Try searching a forum for ur car for a used hood

No seriously just find a cheap hood... cobalts are bunch people who think there street racers(talkin bout ss's and such) i bet you can find a used hood because someone put on a carbon or something on some cobalt forums

the pizza place wont pay for anything ill be any amount of money that he signed a release of liability... and if anyone is using a lawyer that only costs 75-100 an hour i would find a new one... i have 8 lawyers on retainer and the cheapest one is $375 per hour... anyways back to the car... its a 06 im sure a deer did more then just a hoods worth of dammage... take the car in to get a few quotes and see what type of claim the insurance is going to call it under... i have seen sometimes where friends hit deer and they covered it under comprehensive since it was un avoidable and not the drivers fault. that part will depend on the company... if they will take it as comprehensive then they cant legally raise your rates... i would talk to the insurance company and ask specific questions and get numbers and then figure it out...by chance was it a buck and if so did ya take the rack?

honestly you can get a bunch of estimates from body shops but they will be way high, If you dont have cash buy used parts, get it fixed right when you can. Your insurance will go up if you turn it in, I wont turn anything into insurance unle I total my car. Paying out of your pocket is cheaper than years of ridiculously high insurance rates

take the deer to small claims court and make it pay for the damage.

Hitting an animal falls under your Comprehensive coverage, not your Collision. It shouldn't raise your rates if you file a claim.

I used to live in Oklahoma and drove to TX a lot and have hit deer twice, the last one totalling the vehicle I had a few years back. My carrier, State Farm, is who told me that little gem about it not raising the rates.
