Got a sweet on a plasma deal this weekend!!!

600hz? fail...

My dad got a new $2000 LED tv that's supposed to be 240hz and I think it looks like shit. It makes any movement look really fake and almost too quick. The only thing that it actually improves is the look of explosions...other than that I'd take my $600 42" over his any day...

Good deal, I love my plasma.

Though, which I would have waited a year, 42" Plasmas have really dropped in price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

hell yeah, i plan to take advantage of that in january //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif or as soon as best buy has 3 year no financing

Which would you get, a 1080p 42" that's $650 or a 720p 42" that is $499.

Assume latest technology on each, 600hz sub field blah blah blah...

On a 42" does it make a big difference?

I would probably splurge and get the 1080p. I think it becomes noticable on tvs 40 and above. I too am debating on that right now though lol

Go for the 720p, at only 42" you won't be able to tell the difference. I have a 42" 1080p and some of the stuff I watch is only 720p but I can't tell the difference...

really? starting to rethink about my next tv then. that would save a ton of money
Yeah, my local HD stations broadcast in 720p, 1080i, and 1080p and honestly I have to hit the info button to know which one I'm looking at...now if you had a much larger tv, I could possibly see it becoming a factor but not at 42" imo

LOL @ the title of thread. Shyts backwards! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I noticed that a little late, I'm surprised it took this long to point it out:laugh:

Read around a bit. The majority of videophiles will say that it's hard to see a difference in 1080P v. 720P in screens 42" or smaller.

I only have one Blu-Ray movie (The Departed), and I can't imagine it looking any better than what it does.

I'm using a 42" Sammy Plasma 720P.

btw, where did you find a 1080p 600hz 42" for only 650?

I'm creating my theoretical price and feature point on the 1080p 42".

I think we'll see that price this season before Christmas. I have seen

the new technology 720p for $499.

really not a good deal...panasonic makes garbo now(i work in a tv store)shuda got a samsung.....but its w/e not my tv
Ya go ahead and head on over to avs forums.. You will find a LOT of people (professionals included) who will STRONGLY disagree with you.. but hey, you sell tv's so you know all right? fucking kids thinking they have a clue
