LCDs, whether LED or CCFL lighting still don't have the contrast levels of a plasma, and probably never will. Plasma still generally has better picture quality. Nice buy on the tv btw

he just got a 54" tv. A shit ton bigger than 46. Is it 1080p? What is the hz rating? What is the contrast ratio?

I got a 54" LG from my boss (sells TV's) for 800 bucks. Yay for paying his cost!

It's going to be primarily for movies and light ps3 gaming, for that I prefer plasma.

The same place had a deal on Saturday (one day only) 46" Toshiba LED LCD 1080p 240hz for $999 model number 46sv670u, if I wanted LCD I would have picked it up. That's a steal too.

As for the contrast ratio asked about, it's only 40,000 to 1 native but has some crazy crap that's supposed to boost it to 2,000,000 to 1.
