got a new 250 amp alt..now my cars effed up

most probably, saying this as a mechanic, it probably drained the remaining juice of your lowlife battery, get a new one, preferably a greentop, and start the process over again. if it does happen again, (it shouldnt), take it to pro audio people, theyll help you out

 
i disagree, how is checking the grounds and making sure the power wire was installed on the alt, idiotic? the same goes for the big 3, he did just install a ho alt, didnt he? so, over ruled

why would he install the big 3 now? Why add more into the equation? How about he returns it to stock and see how that goes. If you still have your stock alty put it back on. Also make sure you did not crack the plug on the alt for the field wire.
