Got a few questions about my Kicker system

hey guys, pretty new to the forum, ive got a 99 silverado extended cab with 2 10' kicker L5's dual 2 ohm 2005 model and a Hifonics Bx1500 amp in a sealed box with around .77cubic ft per sub. I just got it in last friday and im really pleased with it but im really new to the car audio thing so i have some questions.

1. Sometimes when i play my music pretty loud the cd skips or something (idk how because the cd is almost brand new and it has no scratches on it whatsoever) ?? what is this?

2. Is it possible for me to blow my subs with my amp if i turn them up too loud?

3. I have some rattling where the back of the cab is. If i take the back seat out and put a sound proofing material back there will it make it stop?

4. With my limited air space should i stick with L5s or would it sound good and be worth it to spend about 200 more dollars on a pair of 10 L7's

5. I was told the 2005 model L5 was the 04 L7? is that correct?

Thanks in advance

#1 the head unit might be dirty, make sure it is mounted tighty

#2 Not if u have the gains set correct

#3 It should, but my friend had the same proplem(it was a HD though) the lil bracket in the middle of the seat up by the window was the reason.

# 4&5 talk to Polecat he should know

the 05 L5's are just like the 04 L7 but the baskets are steel versus cast aluminum. The skipping is the bass shaking, if at upper volumes. Sound deadning the rear will stop the rattles... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1) could be the bass making it shake..make sure its tightly secure or could be dust int eh head unit.

2)Yes...but if you set the gains correctly nothing should go wrong.

3)Most likely

4)I had 2 l7s in small sealed box and it pounded but i'd stick with the l5's

5)no idea

**** thanks for all the quick responses..looks like ill be taking my dash apart and cleaning out my headunit....also knokin it how did your friend with the HD fix it..i know what your talking about but im not sure how to make it stop rattling?
