One hidden gem among SQ subs is Peerless XXLS. Peerless XXLS is often compared to Dayton Reference and I.D. IDQ. A lot of the very few people who tried it and the IDQ, prefer the Peerless sub. Its rated RMS wattage and xmax are somewhat underwhelming (something like 200watt/12mm), but those figures had been proven to be highly understated. The cool thing about it is that it can run off a relatively modest 4ohm amplifier, which is great for your wallet, your car's electrical system load, and amp cooling. Ideal sealed box size: 1.3 to 1.8 cu ft, but it reportedly works fine in 1cu ft box.
Another SQ sub is of course, the Dayton Reference series. The HO's require a far beefier amplifier but work fine in very small boxes.
Maybe we should address what he does not like about his current set up first before suggesting to spend more money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
