ya im thinking #3 or 4.

utopias would be the dream setup for sure. theyd put me over my $1000 budget though. i still have to budget for custom kicks, amp, and (maybe) rear fill.

in reality, i would most likely fade everything up front 95% of the time but i guess im just weird like that & need to know that i *can* have rear fill if i choose to. i think i'll go with amped midbass drivers for the rear.

ok here's the problem restated (assuming $300 for custom kick panels):

 

$700 budget.

6.5 components up front.

6.5 midbass drivers for rear fill.

amps for front and rear speakers.

what to get???

yo if you would be willing to go 5.25"s for your front fill or rear i have some canton 5.25"s for sale. they are identicle to MB Quart QSD's except with 1" silk dome tweet. canton is actually a sister company of mb quart and from what i hear make a lot of mb quarts parts.

thanks ill keep the cantons in mind but im liking the idea of custom kicks with 6.5s. i could def see it costing under $100 if i make the kicks myself but i def know my limits too... ha ha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

im thinking it will be cheaper to get the utopias from the start instead of getting something "pretty good" and then upgrading to utopias later on.

i've got 2 stupid questions though:

1. if i go with utopia 3 way, its ok to put the midbass in rear?

2. the price ($500 for 2 way / $800 for 3 way) is just for one set of components right? meaning i'd have to spend $500x2 or $800x2 to get speakers on the left and right sides...right?

it's for 1 full set of comps which means 2 midbass speakers and 2 tweeters. oh and the canton's when i compared them to the focal utopia line were just as good IMO but i hate that harsh of a tweet. the canton's retail for 500-600 in stores so they aren't exactly cheap. i guess just lemme know man if your interested i NEED to get rid of em and will sell them for cheap.
