good single 12" sub for this amp..

with that much I would look into like a brahma, re lines. I personally have never heard these. talk to RangerMan, SS(with four numbers behind) can't remeber:D ramos. they all have had them I believe.

I think you should hook the fabulous amp to either a Rockford Fosgate Power 12' or a Jl audio 10' w7. These two subs sound about the same, but if i were you i would go for the w7.

Good Luck on getting the perfect sub!

You're gonna get so caned for that...

I love RF's, but they do NOT sound the same as a W7....

He also mentioned a $400 budget. I have yet to see any W7 at that price, unless it's second hand.

I believe a W7 might be able to take it, as well as RF, so long as you don't seal them. Feels weird saying W7 and RF at the same line...

SO long as one is careful with the gains, I'm sure both subs can handle a bit more power than its initial rating. Also depends, really.

W7's are 4ohm SVC.

The RF punch series HX2 is 4ohm DVC(final = 2 ohms) .

The RF power HX2, on the other hand, is 2ohm DVC (final = 1 or 4ohms) .

All in all, I say as far as power goes, both subs would have no problems with a little over the recommended.

If your amp puts out about 750w RMS @ 4ohms, I think that's too bad, pushing either sub. Only difference is how clean or brutal you want the bass whipping on your back.

If I'm not mistaken, MTX amps are not known as an SQ amp. (According to knowledgable people on the forum, there IS such a thing as an SQ amp)

Umm..if you seal them they handle more power, think about it..with a sealed box the air inside gets pressurized as the sub moves, causing more resistance, and therefor more power is needed to move the sub to it's x-max. A ported box causes power handling to decrease,
